Forsaking Us Never

From sin He has freed us, its hold has released us,
The mouth of the lion to escape!
He keeps us from falling, preserved by a calling
Through promises precious and great.

High places exalted and thoughts that are vaulted
Give Satan a hold on some ground.
With weapons not carnal his strongholds are conquered,
Through God's mighty power cast down.

Delivered from darkness with purpose untarnished
And clothed in His armor of light,
Who's in us is greater than His imitators
And makes us to truimph in Christ.

For I am persuaded God's love has pervaded,
Dominion of sin to erase.
Baptized into Jesus Who's loosed and unleashed us,
The law no more master, but grace.

(Refrain)
Forever and ever, forsaking us never,
He promises help from the throne:
The Lord is beside us to strengthen and guide us;
In Jesus we're never alone.
