May Eyes Be Enlightened

May eyes be enlightened and hearts opened wide,
To know of the hope that His calling provides.
Through spirit of wisdom God longs to impart
A knowledge of Him that's revealed in the heart.

The inner man strengthened through spirit of might
To know with all saints both the breadth and the height,
When rooted and grounded in love comprehends
The filling of fullness of God from within.

To Him that is able when we are so weak—
Far more than we ask and beyond what we think—
To magnify power in all who believe,
So even the fear of the grave is relieved.

Exalted by God as the head over all
So that even His name will cause us to fall;
For all of creation will bow to His worth
From heights of the heavens to depths of the earth.

The Lord of all Lords and the King of all Kings,
The likeness of God and the heir of all things,
Now seated by God and awaiting His hour,
Upholding all things by the word of His pow'r.

(Refrain)
To God be the glory for ages to be,
That all generations may perfectly see
How all names for now and forever will be—
All might and dominion—placed under His feet.
