Today Could Be The Very Day

Today could be the very day
The sky above will break away,
Revealing heaven's majesty
Of streets of gold and crystal sea.
Christ will descend midst clouds of white,
With angel's voice and shout of might —
As trump of God resounds on high —
In just the twinkle of an eye.

The dead in Christ from earth then torn
Will meet him in the air that morn
Along with His who yet remain,
Incorruptible and changed.
No sun nor moon nor day nor night,
For God Himself will be our light.
We'll get rewards for deeds done here
And reign with Christ a thousand years.

(Refrain)
It seems that time now moves so slow,
But God the day and hour does know
He'll close this age in grand display,
And this could be the very day.
