Two Words
It only seems like yesterday
A pair of words cast us away
From shores that seemed so
Safe and free from pain.
A pair of words cast us away
From shores that seemed so
Safe and free from pain.
And in excursions here and there
We've built some castles in the air
And reaped regret for
Labors sown in vain.
The dreams we've had sometimes turned 'round
When winds of change blew us aground
That we might learn how
God works all for good.
'Twas then it seemed we had to learn
To trim our sails and make the turns
To be the mates and
Friends we knew we should.
But still with every passing year
The bonds of love from joys and tears
Sustain us when we're
Buffeted with force.
And though we've got some miles to go,
The words "I do" said long ago
Still bind our hearts and
Keep us on our course.
